Tretyakov Gallery

Tretyakov was a Russian merchant. In his travels, he would collect Russian art, with the desire to create the first collection of Russian art. Once his collection grew to over 2000 paintings, sculptures, and icons, the gallery was opened. The place was pretty packed with tourist groups, so it was hard to always get great angles of the paintings. I didn't particularly love this, and our guide spoke so incredibly softly. I hardly heard her when I was right next to her. So, this won't be a very info-filled post. Enjoy the pictures, though.

  1. Very nice. Thank you! Would be terrible if his art collection was ever destroyed.
